The Sooth® Story
Sooth® is a social parlour game which can be played by any number of people in convivial surroundings. You may play it in a park, you may play it in the dark... you get the idea. Leave your cell phones at home (or at least out of reach), and get social!
The rules of play are as variable as the players and, as we all know, rules are more fun when they're broken. The main elements required are honesty and understanding. Oh, and a set of Sooth® cards. There are thousands of questions written so far, and given the innumerable human personality types it is inevitable some players may find some of the questions challenging or even uncomfortable. That's the whole point!
However you play and whoever with, you will soon get to know each other, and we promise you'll be hooked, if not evangelistic, right from the very first game. You can even play it alone, if only to find out things you’ve been wondering about your own self. But then... Q: Does the self exist?
Intrigued? You should be... see How to Play. Or read about how you can help us launch Sooth®!
A Sooth® was born...
Cornelius Stone, New Zealand comics author and artist, created Sooth® in the early nineties as a lubricant for social interaction, and is the primary creative force behind the questions. Nik Smythe first played Sooth® in 1995 and was instantly hooked. Both are now collaborating on the long-awaited launch of the game, to bring it first to New Zealand and then international markets.
